Our client requires up to 150 , nimble-fingered and reliable farm workers to harvest, pack, and sort vegetables and fruit-related crops in Devonport and the surrounding areas. You MUST be available to start work from September to December 2022 and be available for a minimum of 4-6 days per week, 8-10 hours per day, for the duration of the season. Some weekend work may be offered. The positions involve varying early start times depending on crop availability and management requirements. Flexibility is a must as the crops’ growth and harvest are weather dependent and may be intermittent. The positions involve outdoor work in varying weather conditions, from hot dry conditions to very cold, wet and muddy conditions.
We need reliable and flexible workers who are physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties may include, but are not limited to, harvesting, cleaning, trimming, weeding, and sorting fresh vegetables outdoors. The duties involve regular lifting, constant standing, walking, and bending to pick, pack and sort products.
You will have good communication skills and be able to work well in small and large teams from various cultural backgrounds.
Wages are paid as per the Australian Horticultural Award 2020 hourly rate. The ability to adhere to company Quality Assurance and OH&S requirements is a must.
